Jason Harding began his career as most in the industry do. He attended local shows -- in his case, Hoosier Pro Wrestling in Columbus, IN -- starting at the age of 16. Like many serious fans, he worked with the ring crew in exchange for free admission to the shows. Ring crew gave him a chance to learn bumps, and learning bumps became full training. While much of his training occurred at HPW, Harding also attended training clinics hosted by Florida Championship Wrestling and the WWE, Dr. Tom Prichard, and Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci.

Due to his small stature, Harding knew wrestling wasn't in his future. But in May of 1999, he was asked to use what he'd learned to referee a show, and he hasn't looked back. Harding's career as a wrestling referee has included many highlights, most notably refereeing a main event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo during Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling's inaugural tour, working as an extra for during a WWE Smackdown taping, and working for Ring of Honor as a secondary referee during Midwest tours.
